Cutting Class
A Bay of Blood: A Ranking of Slashers (1974 - 1990) (http://boxd.it/IoH8) If I had already known that Brad Pitt starred in a late 80s slasher, then I would have seen this a long time agoโbut alas, today was the day I found out, and I had to immediately watch it. To my surprise, Cutting Class wasn't the shitshow I was expecting, despite it not being goodโat all. The plot is predictable and never takes off until the third act, not to mention the lack of mystery it emits when sending off these whodunnit vibes. But maybe it was the camp and weirdly upbeat nature the film has that keeps it mildly interesting. Yes this is a weird slasher in terms of toneโI'm honestly not sure if this wanted to be a comedy or a horror or both, but what you get is indeed a weird mix. Still, the camp makes it worthwhile, despite it not being extravagant at any point. Really, the title is the most interesting thing it has going for it. Oh, and the Pitt of course. 2.0/5

Falls apart somewhere in the middle as the plot muddles with an identity crisis, unsure if itโs a love story or a slasher film. Not enough kills to sustain the story as itโs quite the bloated script. The kill at the end is stellar and all worth it though.
