Predators

This was… okay. Sure it’s not a bad film but it’s just not a great one either. The steaks always feel low in this, and Laurence Fishburnes 5 minutes cameo also felt completely pointless, not really sure why they included that section but oh well. It just all felt rather pointless in truth but at least it was an easy watch.

Acho que o fato desse filme abandonar o exagero temático que é característico dos anteriores, tirando o Crossover com Alien, é engraçado como esse filme tem uma lógica mais de jogo de ação. Já começa que ele é um Battle Royale onde os humanos estão contra a ameaça. O fato dele cair de cabeça – literalmente – na premissa de jogo de caça e caçador. Fazendo referências ao primeiro filme e expandindo a mitologia do Predador, principalmente sobre seus costumes de caça, é algo que satisfaz. O fato do elenco ter rostos mais fáceis de você se importar, não são apenas corpos blindados pra guerra, ajuda também. O que mais me deixa encucado é acharem que o Adrien Brody é um astro de ação, na verdade ele não só não convence como o filme parece que faz força pra ele sobreviver, mas no fim do dia a ação é boa, gosto que ele mantém os elementos violentos e não se rendeu a uma classificação mais baixa em todos os sentidos, honesto e competente.

The action scenes are pretty much the only thing that works, this film reeks of 2010 (in the worst ways). Some of the dialogue is so horrendously bad, like who approved this script? Topher Grace was great, and it was cool seeing Laurence Fishburne get a cameo even if it was short lived. Predator Franchise: Ranked (https://boxd.it/PmFRE)

Alien/Predator marathon- End of Predator! Alas, here is the end of the Predator series thus far. Predators feels as if it is a reimagining of the original, but still points out things from the original. The effects in this were so much better than AVP:R! It's nice watching a film that has decent effects, instead of grueling through a film with terrible ones. This Robert Rodriguez produced film is honestly better than the original. There was more Predator, more action, and honestly, a better plot. Although it's not perfect, Predators outdoes the film that it was remaking (or putting into the universe, which I am still not sure about).
