The Game
Movie Club (nato’s version): #23 - The Game Not bad but easily the worst Fincher movie i’ve seen so far, it takes a while to get going and the ending is SUCH a stretch. 6.5/10

Over Your Dead Body
Was a little disappointed by the twist in the second act but I think it justified itself by the end and at the very least there was some really great gore, IFC should’ve given the same treatment to Faces of Death. Weaving was in her element (so obviously good) but Segel was really good too, i’ve only seen him in Shrinking so I really hope he does some more movies now that his career has been rejuvenated (if it was ever dead, i’m not really caught up on the Segel history). 7.5/10

The Hangover
Crazy that Bradley Cooper was somewhat unknown when this came out, he already feels like a movie star. Not sure if i’ll watch the sequels since i’ve heard pretty bad stuff about them but this was great! 7.5/10

Michael
Baffled at the low early reviews this was getting, really great time and Jaafar Jackson kills it. Very excited for the sequel, hopefully it doesn’t take too long to come out. 8/10

Fight Club
Unfortunately knew the twist already (who doesn’t) but it didn’t ruin my enjoyment at all — great story and a great cast. Fincher’s filmography really rocks so hard, this is a 4.5 and it’s still in the bottom half of the list. 9/10

Normal
The action isn’t as stylized as I would’ve liked it to be but it’s got some decent gore and kills. Really love Bob Odenkirk in the small town sheriff, feels very similar to the character he played in Fargo. 6.5/10

When Evil Lurks
Oh my god man why is this so BORING!!! The ONE redeeming thing is the neighborhood sequence, which was pretty cool, but does not make up for the rest of this. 2.5/10

Bridesmaids
So good, seems long for a comedy but it goes by super quick. Let’s get a Groomsmen spin-off that follows Dougie! 8/10

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
Very fun but I think it drags a bit towards the end. That opening dance number… cinema. 7/10

Spotlight
Love these types of movies, very thrilling. I wouldn’t mind if Ruffalo just did these for the rest of his life, he’s always so good. 8/10

Apollo 13
School Movie Club: #76 (https://boxd.it/rTvb4) Pretty good, not boring like I expected it to be. 7.5/10

Jerry Maguire
More of a comedy than I expected, you can tell it’s from the 90s. Tom Cruise is great as always, and great hair. 8/10

Sinister
Rocks so hard in a theater, Ethan Hawke is incredible. Still the scariest movie i’ve ever seen. 8.5/10

Faces of Death
The cast wasn’t very good and i’m really puzzled as to why they cast Charli XCX for two minor scenes but Dacre Montgomery KILLED it and carried the film on his back. Cast aside, the story was awesome and I loved the meta commentary they had — I wish there was a little more gore but overall I really enjoyed it! 7.5/10

The Place Beyond the Pines
This is teetering right in between 3.5 and 4. The Ryan Gosling section is great and I kinda wish the whole movie was just that. The other two characters we follow weren’t nearly as interesting to me unfortunately. The vibe during the Gosling section is super cool, a nice autumn forest atmosphere. That also disappears during Cooper’s section which may have been on purpose? It comes back for a little bit during the scene with Jason and Robin, a scene I really enjoyed and found to be the most emotional part of the movie. 7.5/10

The Brave Little Toaster
School Movie Club: #75 (https://boxd.it/rTvb4) Whatever man. 4.5/10

Bone Tomahawk
Easily the best Zahler movie, truly was never bored during this one. Great cast, Patrick Wilson is a national treasure and needs to be in more stuff. 8/10
