Diary Entry forMagnolia
Knowledge is an ocean, and we only know a single drop. English: Life is an ocean of invisible connections that never stops surprising us with situations beyond our understanding. Deep down, we know these events can’t just be coincidence: everything has a reason, no matter how unlikely it seems. Magnolia reminded me that it’s never too late to regret, to accept our mistakes and their consequences; never too late to wake up and change. And yeah, forgiveness is tough for those who’ve been hurt, but it’s necessary to heal and free ourselves from the chains that keep us in endless suffering… though in the end, that’s up to us. The performances were incredible, full of power. The direction, style, editing, and camerawork are pure Paul Thomas Anderson at his best. The beginning threw me off a little with so many characters introduced all at once, but overall I loved it. The music works well, and the rain of… yeah, total WTF moment ajksjsjs, but it didn’t bother me. On the contrary, it fits the idea that in life strange things happen and not everything has an easy explanation. This is a film to watch and then revisit in depth, to dig into each story and reflect, because it carries so many lessons. A sprawling, excessive, imperfect maybe—but profoundly human. A rewatch is needed.

This is the most genius yet good movie from PTA, how can he come up with this idea? Such a brilliant concept with 3 hours long it doesn't bored me at all cuz i curious how this is would end, and the Raining Frogs come it such a goosebumps and magical moment for me and it also connected them all. Goosebumps knowing how they're all connected, also good soundtrack! I love how they're all singing one song. One word for this movie is Goosebumps.
Magnolia
"I have so much love to give but i don't know where to put it." What a liberating way to start 2019. The film will be 20 years old since it's release. So I will be 20 years old. This movie is a masterly revelation for me, but it should not surprise me, coming from someone like P. T. Anderson. An extensive film, interconnected with different subhistories, in which pain, sadness, agony, and little else are related to turn everything into a chaos of coincidences, so that in the end we are clinging to an idea about the love, and redemption. The movie is 3 hour long, but it feels pretty fast but they stay in the consciousness and the heart; It's terrifying, demolishing, and emotional, that is something that is not easily achieved. The Jon Brion / Aimee Mann soundtrack is perfection. Loved the performances, all of them and the directing is sublime. This movie is a beautiful masterpiece. And surely I will see it a lot of times when i'm think about killing myself, crying or just for being a beautiful experience. One of my intimate favorites, although almost every letterboxd users loves it immensely. Just... thanks, P. T. A. (2x) (sorry Dogma)
