Dhurandhar: The Revenge

Dhurandhar: The Revenge
Dhurandhar 2 is a total banger that delivers a massive emotional payoff. From start to finish, the film is emotionally heavy, anchored by Ranveer Singh delivering one of the most resonant performances of his career. He is matched perfectly by Sanjay Dutt, who feels like he was given a free hand to just dominate the screen, and a solid turn by Rakesh Bedi. The "rain scene" stands out as a technical and acting masterpiece, the color palette, the raw emotion, and the performances were simply outstanding. The film is exceptionally well-paced; there isn't a single moment where it feels like it’s just dragging. The implementation of events keeps the audience engaged throughout. However, the narrative itself is quite linear. You can essentially guess the entire plot just by anticipating which major event is coming next. Where the film falters is the action, particularly in the beginning and middle sections. Instead of choreographed set pieces, we get a series of montages, specifically during the gang war part, consisting of multiple slow-motion shots of Ranveer walking toward a payoff. It felt like a missed opportunity to utilize the environment for a creative action sequence. By the time we get to the finale, the action shifts entirely, feeling more like a Battle Royale game map than a gritty crime drama. The most underwhelming aspect for me was the music and the villain. In the first Dhurandhar, the score was iconic because of how it elevated specific scenes (Ranveer’s entry music, for instance, is unforgettable). Here, the tracks are good in isolation but fall flat within the context of the film, with only two or three exceptions. Ultimately, a hero is only as good as his villain. While Arjun Rampal is fine, he doesn't come close to the bar set by Akshaye Khanna. Looking back in hindsight, the first film was carried on the back of Rehman Dekait, which made it feel so unique and fresh. Without it, Dhurandhar 2 feels like it’s missing is major part once you start thinking about the film.

Funny Games
I hate this, I am terrified of this but still its such a wild ride. Well acted, executed but I still hate this.
