A boxing movie which has very little to do with actual boxing, this is one of Martin Scorseses best films. Jake LaMottas decent into madness through jealousy and violence show not everything is a happy ending. A truly special film.

Not sure, this might be the third or fourth time I've seen it. Each time think I'm good, I'm tired of putting myself through this, don't need to see it again. I'm going to see it again someday. Socks it to you. Paid more attention to Joey's character this time around. Everyone is so fierce, and fiercely caught in their own gravity wells. Consecration in a bloody bucket.
