A Quiet Place: Day One

I was expecting a lot more chaos since it’s the first day of the invasion. It felt a bit too convenient that the characters figured out the monsters’ weakness almost immediately. The standout part of the movie is definitely Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn’s performances. They did a fantastic job making the fear and tension feel real. Even though it didn’t quite meet my expectations for suspense, it’s still worth a watch if you’re into the A Quiet Place series. Another weird thing I noticed was why the cat never made a peep, like it understood what was going on. Kinda odd but hey, as long as it's safe 😹😹 Overall, it’s an alright prequel, but it doesn’t have the intensity I was hoping for. TOP 2024 (https://boxd.it/sDDDC)

A Quiet Place: Day One

i honestly didn’t think this movie would be so emotional, i know it would be good (any a quiet place movie is) but to get me sobbing like a baby by the end of it? it was so unexpected like wow. the way lupita acts with her face most especially with her eyes is something so serious, shes just too good, literally one of the best actress in this generation. joseph quinn really hold his ground too, like im giving him his 10’s idk, his chemistry with lupita is so good, the bond between their characters is so special and made me care for him a bit more

A Quiet Place: Day One

A Quiet Place: Day One

Firstly, Lupita Nyong'o and her cat absolutely carry this and without them this would’ve been a total disaster. I really enjoyed the first two but couldn’t get into this one at all. The obscene amount of plot holes really took me out of it. Why in gods name did they think it was a good idea for hundreds of them to walk together in the middle of the street is beyond me. I guess it was natural selection at that point. Also, as much as I loved the cat, how didn’t it make a noise throughout the entire film. No one meow or pur? Not one time that it knocked something off a ledge? Seems so unbelievable that I just couldn’t take it seriously. Also, how did the blind monsters know where the water was? They’re literally blind. How didn’t they just run into the water? Some decent moments couldn’t make up for the stupidity of the film and the people in it. Also, the poster is possibly the worst on Letterboxd, but that isn’t a fault of the film itself, maybe they’re just trying to get people to buy patreon.
