“i’ll remind you of everything” a movie about life through the lens of a child, kids perspective on their future, and their perspective towards the adults in their lives would never not make me emotional. i felt like they cut through my body, held my heart, and squeezed it. this movie is just simply beautiful.

i definitely am a whole different person after watching this movie. i'm feeling so many emotions i don't know how to start this review or even what to say. so many times i found my exacts thoughts and feelings finally being put into words for the first time or finding myself resonating with viv through jesse's words. new favourite for sure.

In the interest of checking out more recent movies before they leave the local theater I caught this last Friday on a burst of momentary energy. (Have to pounce on those fleeting reserves when you have them!) I don't even know if it would've pinged my radar had it not been shot in black and white—perhaps that's a general 'tsk tsk' against my attentions. It is quite wonderful to look at. I think you can probably guess the major emotional turns and general narrative rhythms based on the premise and trailer alone. And in the midst of all the bittersweet coming-to-terms there's a bit of NPR-esque preachiness that kicks me out of the moment... but it's so overwhelmingly positive, connective, and affirming, it feels wrong to make that a slight. The film is so thoroughly in the corner for kids, their guardians, and all of our myriad ways in Getting Through modern life. We are not truly disparate strands, connections can be forged, new pathways opened. Growth at every level, cause for quiet celebrations, sleepless nights, and trying again or trying at all.

I knew this is a good movie, but i can't focus watching it because many interruption while i'm watching it, so i can't catch the point and meaning of this movie. Maybe i'll rewatch it i don't know. Or i just want to listen the whole podcast about it [EDIT: After i read the plot and the meaning of this movie, actually is real good]
