The Last Castle
Nice that Redford got to have his ownCOOL HAND LUKE (https://boxd.it/29jY). Pretty solid, until the third act when it goes absolutely insane. I’ll give it this though, it’s never a boring film.
The Last Castle
[Irwin]: “You know where saluting comes from?” [Aguilar]: “No, sir.” [Irwin]: “It comes from the medieval times. Two knights approach each other. They would raise their visors and show their faces. It's like saying 'This is who I am. I am not the enemy, and I am not afraid'.” I uh...I cried?? A prison film is kinda like and it made me shed a tear??? More likely than you think! While the ending was rather...disappointing and sad at the same time; watching Redford, Gandolfini (rip king), and Ruffalo perform in one film was quite stunning to watch as a whole. Might be my favorite Dad film™ so far (idk if my own Dad watched this, tho...but I will recommend it to him). [P.S.: Robert Redford shirtless while being punished to move those rocks...I almost fainted.]
The Last Castle
