Duel
Man, I really wanted to see who the truck driver was and why he was doing all this. But ig that’s the special thing about the movie — it never tells you and lets you think. The truck feels less like a vehicle and more like a monster — faceless, relentless, and terrifying. No big backstory, no explanations, just raw survival. Almost 90% of the movie is just chasing, and surprisingly, it never gets boring. How do you show a chase for so long and still keep it engaging? Spielberg does it beautifully. He’s always had the ability to create tension with minimal dialogue. Some of the sequences are genuinely terrifying (I hate that truck horn). Ngl, I’m lowkey scared for my life whenever I see a truck or hear that horn now 😭
Duel
what the hell, sure

Duel
Spielberg's made for TV and early directorial effort Duel is what you call a highly intense nailbiter. Dennis Weaver's remarkable performance and the tight cinematography overrule the lagging and clear cut nature of the story, amplifying the entire movie as a strikingly enjoyable thriller.
