The Little Things
What could have been a dynamic and intersting crime drama ended up being a predictable and confusing film. The Little Things had a lot going for it - they had a good cast with a decent plot that could have allowed them to really create a fully fleshed out crime drama that was interesting. But, it seems as if half of the film was exposition, and when it finally came to the climax, it didn’t go anywhere. There’s so many questions left unanswered, and it doens’t seem like they even gave an attempt to answer them. It is a slow film, which I don’t mind whatsoever, but when I pause it and find that I am only 20 minutes into the film and it seems as if I’ve been watching for half of the runtime, there’s a problem. Rami Malek seemed completely out of place, but Washington and, surprisingly, Leto were the ones who managed to keep the film afloat. A really disappointing film, since there was a lot going for it. The first HBO Max release of the year and it’s already disappointing, which is a shame. This one probably should have just went straight to streaming anyways, I would not have wanted to pay for the mess that this film is.
The Little Things
A pretty mediocre movie. Washington acquits himself well (unsurprisingly) but Malek is rather boring, and Leto’s performance is bizarre in the least interesting way possible. The script has been around for nearly 30 years, which would presumably lend a lot of time to polish, but instead it feels as though it hasn’t been updated since it was written. While I’m a fan of deliberately paced movies, this one could easily cut 15-30 minutes and not be any worse for it. I really wanted to like this, but I didn’t really enjoy it much at all.
The Little Things
yeah I don't think Jared Leto was acting
The Little Things
