The Boys in the Boat
I don’t think I can stress enough just how much this film needed to be homoerotic. Because at least then it would have been mildly interesting. As is,THE BOY IN THE BOAT is painfully dull, without good direction, and underwritten to an alarming degree. It’s one of those films that come every award season that is so desperate for accolades and praise but is so by-the-numbers in presentation you wonder why they even bothered. Think In the Heart of the Sea,if you can remember that film. But you probably don’t which is precisely my point. You’ve earned yourself an F on the final George, please see me after class.
