Diary Entry forHot Fuzz
Edgar Wright is one of the best directors working today, and this may be this best film so far. After the massive disappointment last night in soho was I am glad to revisit his older films which are absolutely fantastic. One of the best comedy’s released since the turn of the millennium, and genuinely some of the best line delivery in film.

Hot Fuzz
THE SOUNDTRACK IS FUCKIN PEAK. I LOVED IT. Mientras escribo esto, estoy escuchando Sgt.Rock (Is Going To Help Me) de XTC y me encanta. Tanto Trainspotting, como Withnail and I y Lock and Stock Two Smoking Barrels tienen canciones muy buenas. Slippery Rock 70s AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I loved it. Y Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits. The Cardigans, i mean, what a vibe. PD: EL SOUNDTRACK IS FUCKIN PEAK. I LOVED IT. Amo Village Green… by The Kinks ahg AMOOOOOO DEMASIADO. ME FASCINA ESA CANCIÓN. IT'S A PREDICTION ABOUT THE PLOT TWIST. DANCING WITH THE DEVIL??? AHG that kind of 70s Rasputin-style drumming —WTH y Caught by the fuzz. OK. STOP. I haven’t listened the score originally composed to the film yet, but all the featured songs are just great. English: It’s not my kind of movie, but I liked it and enjoyed it. I don’t usually watch this kind of action-heavy comedy, and it’s not my thing, at least for now. I recognize that it works really well, even in its absurdity. In fact, the absurdity, the stupidity, and the homage are part of the goal, and it all works within the universe the film builds. There were moments when I laughed, but above all, I felt the protagonist’s frustration. The film is so well made that it pulls you into the experience, to the point where you feel his helplessness—he’s the only one taking everything seriously. At one point, I thought, “They’re so useless”, but then they finally became aware, and it was like “thank you, God. He couldn’t just die or run away"—and I loved that. Those movies were the spark that motivated him… I liked that. The action is amazing, and the deaths were grotesque. Something I really love about British cinema is its editing and the unique way it presents characters. Also, the music they use—and this film is no exception. As I write this, I’m listening to Sgt. Rock (Is Going To Help Me) by XTC, and I love it. I’m still listening to the soundtrack, which can easily go unnoticed cause of how chaotic the pacing can be, and how immersive the movie is. It’s obvious there’s soul and a deep love for cinema behind this. And you just have to look at the chemistry between Danny and Nicholas. That was my favorite part. Nicholas Angel is extremely competent, methodical, obsessive—and that makes him seem cold and out of place. But instead of presenting him as some cool hero, the movie shows him as someone lonely, who doesn’t know how to connect with life beyond work—even like a lunatic losing his mind in the “safest town” in the UK. Although really, he’s just someone whose sense of justice and morality is so deeply ingrained that he pursues it no matter what. His relationship with Danny is great. There’s real development between them, and you feel it when Danny sacrifices his life for his friend. We witness a sincere, clumsy friendship full of heart. That was what hooked me The fact that the cure to disconnect from work is watching movies is genius, because that’s exactly what we do when we watch films: a way to detach from our lives… —but not entirely, because in the end it’s another way of living—learning about ourselves and life through unforgettable characters and stories, just to gain some wisdom and live our own lives with more clarity and will. I’m still listening to the soundtrack and loving it, holy shit. Trainspotting, Withnail and I, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels all have amazing songs. It’s always a pleasure to listen more closely to a British soundtrack. Slippery Rock 70s AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I loved it. and Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits. In terms of comedy, I’m realizing that what makes me laugh the most are not movies that aim directly for laughs, but those where humor comes from chaos or the rawness of the characters. That happens to me with Withnail and I, Trainspotting, strange moments in Breaking Bad, and the reality of what the dysfunctional family in Little Miss Sunshine goes through. I laugh at the awkwardness, the humanity, the unexpected. Like that scene where Walter White laughs uncontrollably under the floor. That maniacal laugh that grabs you—not because it’s funny—but because you relate to the absurdity of life itself, to how unbelievable yet plausible the situation is. So yeah: Hot Fuzz is not my favorite thing ever, but I liked it. It’s entertaining, has a particular rhythm, lovable characters, and a very defined style. I thought what I liked the most was the charm of the characters—but it ended up being the music. I’m listening to Lovefool - Radio Edit by The Cardigans as I write this—I mean, what a vibe—. It feels like the kind of movie that knows exactly what it’s doing, and even if you’re not the target audience, it manages to win a place with charm and honesty. And that, in the end, is always appreciated. I’ll probably rewatch it with different eyes, with the soundtrack running through my veins, and laugh more than I could’ve imagined. P.S.: The last soundtrack I loved this much was Trainspotting and The Matrix. I love Village Green… ahg I LOVE IT SO MUCH. IT'S A PREDICTION ABOUT THE PLOT TWIST. I can’t believe I didn’t even notice or register these bangers while watching the movie… and now I’m just thinking: how the hell did they pull it off? I want to match every scene to each song. DANCING WITH THE DEVIL??? AHG that kind of 70s Rasputin-style drumming —WTH and Caught by the Fuzz. OK. STOP. I haven’t listened to the score originally composed for the film yet, but all the featured songs are great, and the main theme.
Hot Fuzz
I like the moment when the villagers simultaneously reveal their hidden weapons after seeing Nicholas return with an arsenal while riding a horse. A mystery action film with a touch of comedy, i really enjoyed watching it.
Hot Fuzz
My friend Luke pressured me into watching this for some Taco Bell. I took the bait and watched the movie. I loved it so much. I wasn't as into it at the start and I felt a lot of the cuts were extremely quick paced, but towards the end it really hooked me. The final sequence being so over the top and funny sold me entirely. Need to give this a rewatch but for a first viewing, I loved it!
