Pretty funny. Watched the uncut/extended version by accident and it’s not as good as the original, the extra scenes aren’t all that funny and mess up the pacing quite a bit. Wandering around the jungle like you some kinda one man GPS! is my favourite line and made me lol. It’s a good time just make sure to watch the theatrical cut because it’s far better.

Tropic Thunder

About 6 years ago, my grandmother went out of town, and I was staying with my grandfather and dad. At the time, I was 11 years old, still starting to get into film. We decided to have a "guy's night" and watch something risqué. My dad put on Tropic Thunder and instantly regretted it. He had forgot about the trailers at the beginning of the film and fast-forwarded through them. My first real memory of this film was that it was extremely violent and I didn't like it at all. Fast forward 6 years, and here I am now, practically dying throughout the entire film. There aren't many films that I can say that made me laugh out loud, but I was dying throughout Tropic Thunder. From the start, you can already tell what kind of film that it was going to be. The trailers at the beginning of the film are a really unique way to introduce the characters and stars of the film without having to do an exposition in the actual film. As for the cast, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. seemed to be the funniest out of the ensemble. Throughout, there were so many scenes that were hilarious, and that's thanks to the great cast. It's insane to believe how many huge Hollywood stars made it into the movie, with the most memorable being Tom Cruise. And I still can't believe that this film landed Robert Downey Jr. and Academy Award nomination. Altogether, I'm extremely glad that I finally revisited Tropic Thunder. Ben Stiller's films have always been a hit-and-miss for me, but I can say that this is truly his best film. I'm not one to enjoy many war movies, but this is honestly one of my favorites. Hopefully Ben Stiller can create another film that's as good as this one.
