Diary Entry forScooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost
Positives: It’s cool seeing Flim Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul return to the series, despite me not seeing them in the show. Van Ghoul especially was funny, his puns did get tiring though. The animation and voice acting is great as always, and it’s hard to explain why these are so fun to watch. But they are. Negatives: The ending is weak with little explanation on what the ghouls actually were, and why Velma and Fred floated. There was really no plan to saving the day. Fred becoming a cheerleader so Daphne could lead was very awkward and strange. Overall it was a fun, easy watch and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost
i hated this movie and i dont understand why it has a 3.0 here on letterboxd. its not good. as someone who grew up loving the 13 ghosts of scooby doo i cannot believe what a disgrace this movie is. anyway i forgot to leave a proper review on this movie after i watched it so here is a copy/pasta of what i said about it on the scooby doo subreddit: WTF i saw so many complaints about how bad this movie was an honestly i thought people must be overreacting. its a kids movie it isnt going to be perfect. but boy was i wrong. im a die hard scooby fan since childhood, i like most of the scooby movies i've seen even if they're not the best but..... fred's cheerleading: CRINGE velma's skepticism is really getting on my last damn nerve, she may have been a little skeptical in earlier series but she wasnt this f8cking annoying about it and im tired. why is this the new velma trope they've been going with? the majority of flim flam's scenes arent even with daphne, shaggy or scooby..... now lets get to what really ruined this and what is really the biggest WTf about this film. - it makes no damn sense that daphne and shaggy and scooby never told fred and velma about vincent van ghoul, flim flam and the 13 ghosts. the whole "we were trying to forget it" thing is so lame they went on this crazy and terrifying adventures and didnt tell their other two closes friends, come on now. - "what's a scrappy?" i almost lost it at that point. i mean you are fucking kidding me fred and velma dont even know about scrappy, scooby's own nephew, the writers really decided to lean into the everyone hates scrappy thing. smdh. - and lastly what i have to believe is what really ruined it for everyone who watched especially if like me you grew up watching 13 ghosts. the monster was just another man in a disguise. WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK!? this is a sequel to the 13 ghosts of scooby doo the monster was suppose to be real!!! that was the whole plot of 13 ghosts!!! the monsters were real. what would make these writers think that making the monster just another man in a costume was the way to go???? it makes no sense. also to add to velma's skepticism being annoying af. that ending validated her skepticism which is annoying and then she literally was about to reopen the chest of demons!!! she was so arrogant about being right that she came close to opening it knowing that daphne and shaggy were terrified about what was inside. like f8ck off velma. i haven't seen every scooby doo movie but this is definitely at the bottom.
