Diary Entry forThe Red Shoes
Ahead of its time in many ways, and some of the best acting you’ll ever see, The Red Shoes is a tragic tale of love and desire. Dedication to art and all that it is can make for some pretty ugly situations, with this film being the antithesis of this very concept. The ending was perfect in my opinion, her death makes the whole thing much more traumatic, as cruel as that sounds.

The Red Shoes
easily in the top 5 most visually beautiful movies to ever exist. bring back technicolor!! the entire red shoesballet sequence had me completely mesmerized. from the sets to the costumes to the makeup to the dancing, they didn't miss a single thing! and vicky page, oh how i love you (especially in that green dress in monte carlo). you deserved to be able to love both your man and your art.
The Red Shoes
Damn. Really does just spiral out from here, huh. Decades of cinema lying in wait behind every stage door, trailing from every footfall
The Red Shoes
“— Why do you want to dance? — Why do you want to live? — Well, I don’t know exactly why, but I must. — That’s my answer too.”
The Red Shoes
Almost 20 minutes of a ballet sequence...that was the greatest 20 minutes of my entire life.
