Diary Entry forThe French Connection
This thriller offers a look into the dirty side of being a cop, with the highs and lows of the profession. Popeye is the bad cop and cloudy is the good cop, but Popeyes desperation to be the hero causes the death of two cops, one on screen and one off screen. This is a dark look at the police in general, as well as organised crime. The ending is done to perfection, I still can’t believe he got away and was never caught, crazy. Overall the film had some parts I really enjoyed and other parts which felt pretty stupid. The bridge scene especially, the scene is very cool but the have the villains trapped on a bridge, why not just have more police show up behind them? They literally had them right where the wanted them and they got away. Quite annoying but still an interesting watch which paved the way for many modern cop films.

The French Connection
"...basically a good cop." Real good to see it again. A damning movie at every level and probably one of THE entries in the annals of location shooting.
The French Connection
Watching this after OBAA since this was a big influence for PTA. Cool car chase and shootout sequences. Needed more of Roy Scheider. Would do a great double feature with To Live and Die in L.A.
The French Connection
Such a brilliantly shot film and that car chase sequence doesn't feel like it was shot in 70. The production and the cinematography of this film is just outstanding.
The French Connection
Haven’t seen this in about 20 years, and man that a dumb fucking move. Such a great film.
