Diary Entry forWar and Peace, Part I: Andrei Bolkonsky
Probably the most scenic film, this is the definition of epic. It’s so large scale that at times it doesn’t feel like a film, more a video from the 1800s. The costumes are fantastic, colours are beautiful and the entire thing makes at a good pace. The only thing holding this back was the names. To me, they sounded so alike I found it difficult to understand who the characters were talking about. But apart from that it’s a great time and I’m excited for the other three parts.

I bought a Soviet film magazine from the 1960s and the main highlight was this movie so I had to watch it.
