A great film. The ending is absolutely fantastic when Hugh Grant finally admits his love for Emma Thompson, the only reason this isn’t a five star is due to some pacing issues in the middle but apart from that it really is a masterpiece. Great performances all round and the sets are absolutely fantastic, it made me laugh when the girls were complaining about living in a ‘cottage’ which is probably worth millions in today’s market.

Sense and Sensibility

incrível a capacidade da jane austen de escrever personagens secundários tão inconvenientes e irritantes.

Sense and Sensibility

Just... marvelous. Don't think I'll ever be in the position of adapting a book to the screen, but if I do I'll be taking those notes from Thompson here. I'm pretty sure I never made it through this one back then, getting fed up with Grant's Edward just not. being. able. to. speak. up and out... as his characters sometimes did. But I'm very glad to see it all the way through today and note how he did, finally, get the words out, with Emma gasping for air behind it and us lining up to collapse along with. Best viewed with wine, exchanging pained glances, and yelling at some of the audacity on display.
