Diary Entry forNiagara
An interesting triller with a good twist, this Monroe classic was great. The story had good suspense and was entertaining throughout. Jean Peters was probably the best actor in the film, with Monroe and Showalter a close second. A great watch.

Niagara
Monroe's dissolving dream to match Cotten's impotent implosion. Who knew you could filter Noir through a misty rainbow on a sunnyside ride. Yet here we all are, seeing the desperate sights. Low-key hilarity in how Polly just can't catch a break. Ha, and that whole Cutler American Dream boy she's ringed up with is a horrorshow in his own right
Niagara
bit slow but Marilyn is amazing

Niagara
“You kinda like that song don't you Mrs. Loomis?” “There isn't any other song.” Shot in beautiful technicolor, Niagara (https://boxd.it/1Ef2) utilizes all the basic noir tropes for this unusually colorful story about love, murder, and disappointingly slow third acts. Shot mostly on location, Niagara (https://boxd.it/1Ef2) has one of the most visually arresting backdrops to a noir film I’ve ever seen, it almost makes you forget just how uninspired the story actually is. The standout of course is Marilyn Monroe (https://boxd.it/3aYt) as Rose, the sultry femme fatale who plays on her looks to twist the story in the direction that benefits her. Unfortunately, there really isn’t enough of Miss Monroe (https://boxd.it/3aYt) and way too much ofMax Showalter (https://boxd.it/3Mm3) in this film. Way too much. In an almost laughable third act, we are subjected to an incredibly boring, sort-of chase scene with no music in the background and an increasing amount of ridiculous choices made by characters meant to heighten the drama. Drama is very much not heightened — attempted maybe, but not heightened. All in all, I found this one to be a dud.
