Diary Entry forThe Night of the Hunter
Pretty interesting, a unique story and lots of dark humour. This worked very well. Robert Mitchum played a great villain, and was genuinely scary. It’s crazy what religion can do to people. The kids were both surprisingly very good actors, everyone in this was good. Ivey Spoon, played by the great Evelyn Varden, would make my list for more annoying characters in film, but I get that’s what they were trying to do. Solid film.

The Night of the Hunter
those little kids were abandoned by everyone who was supposed to protect them from the very beginning of the movie :( breaks my heart to think that although this was fiction, many children have been abandoned and their vulnerability has been exploited like john and pearl's. the somewhat happy ending was necessary for my mental state.
The Night of the Hunter
The Night of the Hunter is a classic, slow-paced film that often feels like a fairytale. I particularly liked some scenes because they were really good for the time, but this wasn't the case for the entire film. The story didn't really grab me, but it's still a nice film that you can watch, but you don't have to.
