Diary Entry forThe Last Duel
Best film of 2021 so far, The Last Duel is a masterpiece. The film consists of the same story told from three different perspectives, and all make for interesting watches. Each character is so well explored that you start to really care for their outcomes and fates. All the cast are simply fantastic, with everyone giving top draw performances. Everything from the costumes, cinematography and effects are all amazing and come together to create a world which feels real. It’s truly immersive and the brutality of some scenes adds to the realism of the entire thing. Without a doubt, one of the greatest film I’ve seen in a long time. Watched at Cineworld with my beautiful ❤️

67/100 I like the direction but it’s entirely repetitive, why have the same dialogue with the same camera angle shown twice for practically an hour? I’m not concerned with the accents at all because it’s based on the French and it’s an English film so if one really wants the accents, they should want it to be a French film. Jodie Comer’s character was fucked by her husband, her rapist, her mother-in-law, her friend and the court. An incredible story of a woman’s fight against everyone in a male dominant conformity. She was by far the star of the film. Ben Affleck’s character was fun and the only male I didn’t really hate because he had that hideous blonde look and was funny. Ridley Scott has chosen yet another wonderful story, directed well but messed with up with the overall structure of the film. The ending was worth it for sure.

The Last Duel
Every 30 minutes or so, the guy sitting in front of us in the theater would check the NFL app on his phone. At full brightness. During the frickin' movie. But yeah, good film!
