Honestly this has to be the most disappointing film I’ve seen in a long time. There is very little good to say about this, and almost endless bad things. To start with, the acting. From this cast you’d think it’d be pretty good, but it’s really not. Everyone seems bored, tired and disinterested in what’s going on. This may be down to the poor writing, but it appears sloppy. Secondly, this is filmed almost like a TV show instead of a film. Director and writer Lisa Joy was the women behind Westworld, a very popular, and very good (seasons one and two) show which is set in the future with mysterious undertones. This film has a similar concept, except it’s a movie. Multiple times during this it feels like the end of an episode. The screen will cut to black and then Hugh Jackmans character will start narrating again. It feels like a show which was quickly made into a movie, which doesn’t sit well. There is literally to no explanation to what’s going on. We can tell it’s in the future, but that’s about all we know. They constantly mention the war, but offer virtually nothing to explain it. Who was fighting in the war? When did the war end? Who won the war? How long did the war last? Non of these ever get answered but the war gets mentioned many times during the film. Also, the water is never really explained, or at least not well enough to remember, which brings me onto my next point. This has to be, without a doubt, one of the least impactful/memorable films ever made. There is no real message in this, it’s more just events happen and then it ends. I didn't feel any connection to any of the characters, I didn’t care if they died or saved the day, I just didn’t care. They’re all pretty dull and boring. The entire film is dull and boring. In a couple of days I can guarantee you won’t remember anything about this, apart from that it’s bad. Finally, let’s talk about the ending. The ending of the film is usually the redemption, or at least the progression. The end should leave the viewer feeling satisfied as two hours have just passed which you can never get back. This made me feel the opposite to satisfaction. Hugh Jackmans character, Bannister, just gets old in the tank. That’s it. He doesn’t really learn anything, like how to move on, he just kind of slowly dies. It’s pathetic. Yes, he lost the women he loved, but so do millions of people. Instead of trying to move on, he just accepts the fact that she’s dead and decides he will just dies along with her. It’s so strange, especially because that’s what he was doing at the start of the film. He doesn’t progress as a character at all and it’s so frustrating. This film is utter garbage, the more you thing about it the worse it becomes. I wouldn’t ever watch this again and I hope this film gets forgotten to time. Also there were two men and a women, all in their 30s, who were at the screening I went too. They sat one seat away from me. Throughout the film they loudly talked, laughed at nothing and threw popcorn at each other. If you’re the type of person to do this, stay away from a cinema. It ruins it for everyone. You’re not clever, or funny, you’re just a massive c*nt. Don’t know what was worse, the film or these three idiots. Watched at Vue with my beautiful ❤️

Really Really Epic Movie , the story writing , acting and the plot of the movie is really fantastic. It gave me some Nolan vibes at some times. And really great performance by Hugh Jackman.
