Diary Entry forYojimbo
A fun and interesting time, Yojimbo doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously despite the film being about killing. Has some funny moments and some absolutely beautiful shots, still prefer the Western version though.

Yojimbo
80/100 When I first watched a fistful of dollars I didn’t know it was a remake of Yojimbo. I found out a little after and now I’m making my way slowly through Kurosawa's filmography. I was excited to get to this one. This is very basic but with the foresight that this inspired so much of American and European cinema you have more appreciation for this. Only downside is the actions pretty bad (doesn’t affect me), and there isn’t much to the main character. Though Toshirō Mifune does a fine job. I’d give it a 70 but because this was the original I’ll bump it up. The plots great and the acting is stellar, surprisingly good cinematography too.

Really amazing stuff. Akira Kurosawa was a very special guy. Like Seven Samurai, this movie is surprisingly goofy and hilarious until it gets quite somber. The cinematography is really cool and the action scenes were sick. I love how quick and deadly he is with the sword. I also really liked Uno and thought he was really interesting. Also there’s some elite aura farming in this that really put a smile on my face
