As a big fan of Contempt I was expecting something similar, however this isn’t nearly as interesting to me. Sure, the styles are very similar, Godard definitely has his own techniques, but this felt far less interesting or important. Sure, there are some good scenes and the cinematography is excellent, but the plot just wasn’t for me.

"You must take anyone who pays." The film shows the truth about sex work. It's nothing but exploitation of poor women. Really sad film and really sad ending, But I'm so glad a film like this exists. Also loved that they paid homage to silent films. It was beautiful. BUT, I think the "Insult her. If she's a tramp, she'll get angry; if she smiles, she's a lady." line was so stupid. You can tell the writer has never met a woman before lmao.
