Diary Entry forThe Bourne Supremacy
Definitely better than the first, supremacy feels more refined and has more of a purpose. The action is engaging and the annoying side character isn’t present except for the first five minutes when she again is annoying constantly questioning Bourne even suggesting he should give himself up to the obvious assassin. The ending is clever and done well and this is an enjoyable time.

The Bourne Supremacy
“There’s no place it won’t catch up to you. It’s how every story ends.” Not as electric or as compelling as the first film. Even with the personal stakes “raised” and Bourne’s fuse lit,THE BOURNE SUPREMACY quite never manages to detonate. Though the death (read: fridging) of his lover is the inciting incident here, Bourne never seems particularly broken up about it. Not angry, not reflective or even sad, really. Allegedly Gilroy wanted Bourne to seem repentant for what he did during his time as a brainwashed assassin, and that does come across in one scene, but overall I find that angle to be underdeveloped and, tangentially, quite boring in the grand scheme of things. Remorse should come later, Bourne isn’t even “free” yet. Many have noted that Craig’s Bond was partially a reaction to Damon’s Bourne films and there’s definitely some truth to that. Supremacy is this series’ Quantum of Solace except…less interesting, if you can believe it. At least in QoS, you feel Bond’s angst, his rage—his every action is influenced by the loss of Vesper. In Supremacy, you can’t really tell what Bourne is feeling. There’s no emotional impact. Debating on giving into the voices and rewatching the whole series. We’ll see…
