Diary Entry forMy Fair Lady
A ‘21’ year old Audrey Hepburn leaves her home on the streets of London as part of a bet to see if she can speak proper English. Meanwhile, the man who is teaching her is misogynistic and in his 50s, meaning he’s well over double her age. This is even addressed, as both agree he is far too old to date her. However, seen as this is pre-80s Hollywood, the two get together in the ending anyway. Disgusting. However, Audrey Hepburn gives a phenomenal performance and the costume design, colour pallet and sets are stunning. Beautiful. Hepburn is dropped out throughout the film. Shame about the ridiculous story. If they old man and Hepburn didn’t fall in ‘love’ at the end I would’ve rated this a star higher, but they, which puts a very sour taste in your mouth.
