Diary Entry forGandhi
Gandhi feels like a huge accomplishment to cinema, a true epic and masterpiece of production. Sadly, the film drags pretty heavily, and feels much longer than the 3 hours 10 minutes which it is. Some scenes are true spectacles and feel so impressive and some are just kind of… boring. Gandhi achieved more than almost anyone else during his lifetime and his name is immortalised, but I’d be lying is the allegations of him being a r*pist didn’t put a seriously sour taste in my mouth. It put me off watching this for a long time, and I put that to the back of my mind best I could whilst watching, but it’s hard to ignore. The acting on this is truly fantastic, especially Sir Ben Kingsley who is simply amazing. It’s good but far too long.
