A nice and easy watch, nothing groundbreaking just an overall good time, Aubrey Plaza is great as always and although the plot is predictable it does a good job at keeping things entertaining. A good time.

Aside from what feels like a collective adoration for Aubrey Plaza, this film doesn’t have much going for it. I like the premise but hate the title. It’s so basic! As a whole, the film lacks the grit, angst and desperation it should revel in. It never quite digs deep enough, and I think that’s partly due to the Aubrey Plaza miscast (imo). Charlize Theron or Nicole Kidman or Taraji P. Henson would have been stronger choices here. The direction didn’t help either. It all felt very simple and oddly flat. I probably won’t remember this film by the end of the week. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. I did like the ending though. I can always appreciate full circle storytelling.
