Diary Entry forAnna and the Apocalypse
This really feels like wasted potential. A strong enough cast and a good concept (which has been done infinite times before to be fair) is left feeling just okay because of the final half an hour. Pretty much everyone dies in this apart from three characters, which I don’t mind, but non of the characters really seem to feel the effect of losing so many loved ones in such a short period of time. The main girl, Anna, sees her befriend and farther die within the space of about half an hour, but by the end of the film she is seemingly over it all and happy to run away with a man who was an absolute piece of shit for the entire film. But, when it’s good it’s great which saves this from total disaster. I did enjoy watching this, just feel it could’ve been so much more than what it turned out to be.

Anna and the Apocalypse
anna and the apocalypse is a near perfect movie to me. i love all the characters (except the evil principal) the songs are great, the story, the humor, its heartfelt, i love it! there really is only one thing i don't care for and that is the evil principal's song in the cafeteria, feels out of place to me. 9/10 musical horror comedy highly recommend!
Anna and the Apocalypse
I woke up this morning, knowing that I needed to write out a couple of reviews. The problem was, I couldn't remember the second film that I had watched. It has taken me over a solid hour to finally figure out that I had watched Anna and the Apocalypse. And pretty much, that tells you a lot about the film. To start, it isn't a bad film, but it isn't anything that's too remarkable or memorable. The music was fun in the beginning of the film, but as it continued, I really found myself getting bored with the songs, just wanting it to be over so I could watch something else. I think this is primarily because I am completely done with zombie films, there are so many out and the industry has become so saturated with this craze that anything with it is just boring. I know that there's a good film here, but in this moment, it's a forgettable film. I'm going to have to revisit this film and really listen to the songs in the near future so I can really come up with a better opinion.
Anna and the Apocalypse
A zombie musical? Count me in. At first I was expecting more of a Shaun of the dead meats high school musical type film but this felt a lot different. Seeing a horror movie mixed with a musical is both amazing and also really dumb. In some parts it fits then others I can just laugh at how random it is. The way this fits so many different genres in is crazy lol. Horror, music , comedy, coming of age, christmas etc. Despite the music aspect this still had good horror in my opinion. The zombies looked good. The kills were a lot more graphic than you would expect for a musical. The story was pretty basic, but I like how it had the similar Shaun of the dead vibe, where everyone is so caught up in their own journey they don't even notice the zombie apocalypse. The characters were enjoyable. I don't know if the actors actually sang the songs but if they did that's even better. The songs were pretty catchy ngl. Anna was a pretty enjoyable final girl as well. This even mixed in some romance and emotional parts that were pretty solid. This is also kinda a coming of age story interrupted by an apocalypse which I actually find interesting. Like imagine having dreams and everything and then its all ruined by zombies. Pretty good idea. I also wasn't expecting this to actually have some funny bits to it as well. Overall it felt like a unqiue horror zombie story with some surprises. It was definitely one of those more fun movies than in depth.
Anna and the Apocalypse
Good idea, poor execution. Most of the songs are catchy but not memorable. Pretty lackluster performances and script. Even the zombies are a little TOO cliche; I swear every single one acts like it has a stiff leg and spasm attacks. The story leaves a bit to be desired; there are just one too many plots points that don’t make a ton of sense, although I do realize maybe that's because it’s a “musical”. Some sweet zombie kills though! Overall, pretty disappointed in how this turned out. I was really looking forward to something new and unique, but it just didn’t work for me.
