Diary Entry forThe Wrong Man
As per tradition, New Year’s Day means a new Hitchcock film, and this one was a disappointment. As Hitchcock is my favourite ever director I was expecting this to be pretty great, but in reality it was probably the most boring film of his I’ve seen. This drags like you’ve never seen, and the whole gimmick of ‘this is a true story’ doesn’t really work for me at all. It’s completely plausible that two people look very similar and get confused for one another, the only strange thing was the handwriting matching, and a pretty common spelling mistake. It’s not interesting at all and I didn’t even enjoy Henry Fondas performance, he’s wearing an overcoat and hat for pretty much the entire film. Why doesn’t he just take them off? He even wears them indoors and at home for some bizarre reason. Didn’t really enjoy much about this at all.
