Diary Entry forThe Treasure of the Sierra Madre
As much as I enjoyed much of this, I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t drag at times and feel overly long. The prospector is by far the best character, fun and interesting with a story to tell. The main three all have their moments, and the film tells a nice tale, but overall not my favourite western. No denying it’s a good film though which is worth a watch.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre itself is treasure, a classic gem that if still oft-quoted today. There are some quotes that people know from films but never actually know where they're from, but now I finally know where "we don't need no stinkin' badges" comes from. As iconic a line as that is, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre lives up to it's most famous quote. With a cast of Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston, and Tim Holt, while being directed by John Huston, it's not surprise that this film is as good as it is. Each actor holds their own place throughout the film, not seeming to outshine each other, with works in the film's favor, since it really could have been a muddled mess if the focus was only on one character. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a western-esque film that I certainly enjoyed and would love to have the opportunity to watch again. This just really solidifies Bogart as an actor for me and he is really starting to become one of my favorite actors, even if his character here was absolutely despicable.
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
When a title as great as The Treasure of the Sierra Madre bobbles around in your head for an extent of time, nothing but adventure adventure adventure is wildly anticipated. Hell this flick has the words Bogart, Treasure and John Huston on the poster. So to say the film isn't the dream I desired is a slap in the face. Anticipations have a way of getting under your skin. And reality is afar. But it doesn't go without saying that The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a great and memorable movie squeezed with brilliant performances and a well organised plot, despite a minor let down due to Mr Anticipation. And without a doubt the greatest bottle-to-the-face hit lives here. Didn't anticipate that.
