National Theatre Live: Romeo and Juliet

This is my first time ever writing a review without giving a star rating, as I feel this isn’t at all for me. Firstly, this isn’t really a film, it’s a play by the National Theatre. I’ve never really been a fan of the theatre, I don’t hate it I just don’t personally enjoy it. My girlfriend was seeing this for her university course so I went with her, the ticket was supposed to be £14, but I managed to get in for free. The university paid for my girlfriend’s ticket. Overall I didn’t really pay too much attention as to what was going on, I tried too but the style this was film in just doesn’t work for me at all. But it was still a good time nevertheless. I’m not giving a rating as I feel the production, acting and sets were all good, but I just didn’t enjoy it at all. It wouldn’t be fair for me to rate this. Sadly, the theatre just isn’t for me.

National Theatre Live: Romeo and Juliet

Hear me out: this is so modern and creative with some of the directing choices and, yet, 100% faithful with the original play. Jessie Buckley and Josh O’Conner gave us a showstopper performance. I’m shocked on how great this was.
