The Children’s Hour is a deep, dark look at the stigma associated with being a lesbian, as well as how dangerous rumours and lies can be. Mary deserves to rot in hell, but I don’t want to talk anymore about that devil. The film is clever, drawing you in slowing and it keeps you guessing until the end. Speaking of which, the ending is done beautiful, showing Karen’s path to starting fresh. This is a beautiful, interesting masterpiece.

The Children's Hour

“martha, i’m going away someplace to begin again. will you come with me?” hahahaha thats the last words karen uttered to martha. its the last words martha heard from karen. the last moment they gazed at each other. the last time karen looked at martha - alive. and the moment martha decided to kill herself. literally there’s nothing to laugh about this life. absolutely nothing to be happy about. we should all just die. hahahahaaha only feeling so much anger and sadness and despair and grief and depression and sorrow and anguish and agony and pain and fuck just kill me. also feeling so much hate for children oh my fucking god that child is a child of satan or satan reincarnate itself. fuck them kids bro and fuck that grandma too while we’re at it. and that love confession/monologue oh my fucking god so good, so fucking heartbreaking to the point that i actually stopped breathing but so incredibly good! this movie is going to stay with me for a while i actually so sick. martha i love you so much baby :(

The Children's Hour

I swear there are evil children from horror movies that I would rather be in the presence of than Mary. What a little evil witch. Karen and Martha didn't deserve that just because of some spoiled brat (and homophobia). It's one of those movies where you say, "it's just not fair!" Lastly, while watching I couldn't get over the fact that young Shirley MacLaine resembles Emma Myers.
