Esta absurda, meta e impredecible especie de falso documental de viajes en el tiempo es una auténtica genialidad. De verdad, me pareció brillante. Es como una especie de remake de Back to the Future, pero reimaginado, con un toque propio que se siente refrescante e incluso inspirador. Su estilo guerrilla algo caótico torna la experiencia en un ejercicio de metaficción hilarante, donde se rompe la cuarta pared de forma inesperada y las referencias pop entran y salen con una naturalidad absurda. En este sentido, borran la línea entre ficción y realidad de una forma impresionante sin sacarte nunca de la experiencia. A los 15 minutos ya estaba gritando de la emoción, riendo a carcajadas del sinsentido de lo que estaba pasando, pero uno lógico dentro de lo que plantean... es una locura. No sentía tanto vértigo desde hace mucho tiempo. Me iba de boca en esa torre. Justo te sorprende porque se siente muy realista y casi improvisado. Ilusión que se debe al uso de cámara en mano y a que ellos realmente salían a la calle a hacer sus locuras ante un público real; por tanto, lo que vemos en pantalla son reacciones espontáneas de personas que no tenían ni puta idea de lo que estaba pasando. Y yo solo podía sentir fascinación y admiración por el milagro que mis ojos estaban presenciando. Jamás pensé ver un homenaje tan fantástico de volver al futuro. A mis ojos, esto es cine. Es aventura mezclada con ciencia ficción, falso documental y comedia, con un estilo original y una dirección inteligentísima. Según @jake (https://boxd.it/d8rzWT), es como si Trailer Park Boys conociera a Back to the Future y it's a wonderful life (una oración bastante extraña, pero que en sensación funciona bastante bien dentro de la felicidad que evoca esta narrativa simple, pero bellísima sobre la amistad). Realmente fui testigo de un viaje emocionante, divertido y completamente caótico de una banda formada por dos tipos, Jay y Matt, que, cuando sus ridículas maniobras publicitarias para tocar en un club salen mal, terminan viajando accidentalmente al 2008. Y lo que sigue es un recorrido tan hipnótico como entretenido, que funciona como un hermoso, cómico, loco y muy consciente homenaje a Back to the Future. Genuinamente siento que aquí salió algo realmente mágico. La música, la ambientación... TODO lo sonoro me encantó. Es 10/10. Como fan a morir de Back to the Future, esto me pegó fuertísimo. Me sentí como un niño nuevamente. Moría por cada referencia que veía. Incluso, creo que usaron samples del score original. La escena de "What's the magic in Orbitz?" Me da vibes a "Do you wear wigs?" ese meme de lotr. ¡Qué hermosa escena! 😭 En mis libros, esto es un clásico instantáneo directo a mis favoritos. Me encanta ver que actualmente se pueden hacer cosas así de originales y cautivantes en estilo. Que lograran engranar de forma creativa el footage de la webserie del 2008 con la película, me sorprendió muchísimo. Tanto que me dieron ganas de tomar una cámara y hacer cine, se les juro. Se nota que lo filmaron con mucho corazón, porque esa energía cálida se siente y te contagia. En definitiva, soy muy fan de lo que Matt Johnson hizo aquí. Véanla y ojalá lo disfruten al igual que yo. Al menos les aseguro que es algo diferente que mínimo podrás disfrutar, incluso aunque no hayas visto nada de la serie como yo. 🚬🚬 Atentamente, El freaky de los time travels. PD: Honestamente me sorprende que me haya encantado tanto, sobre todo porque este tipo de narrativas ya son tan estándar para mí, que generalmente no me generan emoción alguna, pero aquí flipé con todo. Es una verdadera bocanada de aire fresco que, como fan, apruebo. Hoy se brinda por ese relámpago en la botella y por el fair use que permite hacer maravillas como esta. La felicidad que me evoca es indescriptible. Me absorbe de una manera tan fascinante que me provoca cosquillas y una sensación de confort inigualable. Might’ve been just the slightest victim of my high expectations, but I liked it! While I think I could have connected to this more had I been familiar with the web series, I got plenty of laughs out of this and one embarrassingly loud yelp! I love when people make the things they’re passionate about and the community responds to it so passionately. This is the ecosystem we must maintain. Congratulations Matt and Jay :) <3

Don’t think I enjoyed it quite as much as most seem to be, but I still had a good time, and apparently so did the guy behind us who had the loudest belly laugh I have ever heard in my life, and was doing it nonstop.  The stuff in 2008 is the main section where I didn’t find myself laughing, it seemed to be a lot of callbacks to older stuff and I haven’t seen any of that, so I much more enjoyed the first and third acts.  7/10
