Diary Entry forEden
I actually really enjoyed this. Sure some parts drag and the outcome is inevitable but still it was interesting and I did enjoy learning about the events even if most of it may be fabricated. The acting is obviously stellar given the cast but Jude Law is especially good in this, steals the show in many ways. No idea why this never got a theatrical release, given the cast I could see it doing well at the box office but oh well.

le casting est dingue la musique est très bonne mais au bout d'un moment j'ai décroché, c'était au bout de 1h30 à peut près. dans l'ensemble je trouve ça plutot sympa il y a une bonne tension pendant les 2/3 du film
Eden
72/100 Check out my 2025 ranked - https://boxd.it/Fn1G4 To quote Michael Owen or paraphrase rather - “it’s much easier to destroy than it is to build” and that does apply to every facet of life and this film is the embodiment of that and really a lesson of how you can withstand that destruction, how you can use your wits to negate others ill will. Ana De Armas is the devil incarnate and it really was quite infuriating watching her which means she did a good job obviously. Sydney Sweeney on the other hand was innocent and perhaps the only actually nice person in this film; she was smart though, she wasn’t some dumb blonde in for the ride. She stood out to me and Vanessa Kirby was good for the limited role she had. The women carried. This film starts off slow and until the one hour or halfway mark, you see where this is going but you really are crawling along because they do test your patience with the cluster of isolated events spread over weeks. Then it arrives at the climax and you just chug along for 40 minutes until the end. You could say this is a pacing issue but after the film, you do get it. It’s really just the experience that they are offering you. They are giving us this parallel of life from the beginning. It’s a twist on Adam and Eve hence the name Eden denoting Garden of Eden. The devil or the apple is Ana de Armas and then I don’t know much else about that story but this shows how the first attempt was unsuccessful and the second dealt with it and came through as the victor and inhabitants of the island. They are giving you this thrill of life whereby everything is slow and boring most of the time but the build up eventually leads to something exciting or tragic which either way is thrilling and gets your blood pumping. Many things come full circle which leaves you satisfied to a degree and the fact that this is a true story is quite incredible. You have the world beginning as it did thousands of years ago for some people even in the 20th century. It just shows that you strip down all that rapid change around you and you are left with your human instincts and emotions which decide how you live or if you live. It is a movie about what it is to start something and deal with adversity in that process. I suppose I did get more out of this film that I thought I would.
Eden
This film was pretty depressing and dark. Going into this I had no clue about anything relating to this film. All I knew was the cast. This was pretty disturbing and crazy knowing it's a true story. This film was a lot better than I was expecting from others reviews. I like the overall messaging it has, looking for paradise just to find the opposite. The whole plot was very interesting as well. This tells a story of human nature at its finest. Some of these scenes were pretty out of nowhere though. I also feel like this could've been shorter. However the whole cast is stacked and were great all around. Seeing Ana De Armas play a villain was great, probably my favorite part of this film. Sydney Sweeney did surprise me as well. I think I'm starting to like the thriller genre more. I fully enjoyed this and am now curious about the actual history.
Eden
Compelling, and well done. Stretches credulity a bit, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that the film iseffective, and Chung is quite good here.
