Valley of the Dolls could’ve been so much better than this, as the story itself is pretty interesting. However, the pacing is absolutely abysmal. The film feels like it’s four hours long, scenes are heavily dragged out and the directing is simply awful. I’ve seen many reviews about the poor acting but overall I thought the performances were solid all round. Never read the book so I can’t comment on that. Overall it feels like this had many good ideas but was terribly executed.

Pretty heavy. I cried a bit towards the end..iykyk. I wasn't a fan of the pacing, time jumps and the random f slur thrown around several times. I liked the plot and acting though.

Valley of the Dolls é um filme pretensioso, mas tem seus méritos em mostrar como a indústria do entretenimento sempre foi altamente selvagem contra mulheres. Quebrando-as psicologicamente até tirar delas tudo o que tinham. É lindo esteticamente e, apesar de lidar com diálogos rasos, consegue deixar sua mensagem clara. Poderia ser tão grande quanto acredita ser? Sim, mas ao menos não é desastroso.
