Diary Entry forCimarron
A film of tremendous scope for its time, it’s no surprise to me how this won best picture back in 1931. Sure, it feels dated now, but back then this was a massive hit with both critics and audiences. Sure, it bombed at the box office, but that’s due to the depression which wasn’t the films fault. The film itself tells an interesting tale of early America, it’s just a shame the film sounds so bad, without subs this would be close to unwatchable for me. It starts very strong and ends quite abruptly, but overall this is pretty good, and I don’t think it deserves the reputation it’s got.

Cimarron
Cimarroncaptures the authentic feel of those trying to better their lives by heading west, creating characters that you can somewhat relate to. That being said, many racial stereotypes are portrayed, and while acceptable to portray at the time, does not hold up whatsoever today. It’s a typical western melodrama, with a few good aspects, but overall is a forgettable film.
Cimarron
i hate it here, i really do. the racism and misogyny is absolutely malevolent, not to mention the church scenes
