Made me laugh far more than I thought it would, this is an easy watch which shows a deteriorating relationship. It’s not really very sad, we’ll at least it didn’t make me feel sad, it more just happens naturally. Like I said, a funny and easy watch.

Annie Hall

Annie Hall

A great first dip into Allen's filmography, Annie Hall brings humor and sadness into romance, something normally there, but puts his own spin onto it. I enjoyed the script the most, with some extremely witty things included, making the dialogue heaven to hear. The characters were interesting, as well as their presentation, especially in the flashbacks. I loved how it broke the fourth wall, creating a totally different experience while watching it. Annie Hall may not be the most "romantic" movie to watch for Valentine's Day (or at least the entrance into Valentine's Day), but it is a great romance.

Annie Hall

Quick wit and a captivating dynamic between Allen and Keaton make Annie Hall worthwhile. Especially prevalent in Allen’s early work, the lead characters are a literal self-insert, but Allen somehow manages to still make the characters interesting, even if they’re essentially the same in every film. It’s a nice revisit, and I’ll have to get around to watching Allen’s other films eventually.
