Love the premise, love the comedy and love Audreys performance. However, this feels wrong. The age difference being glaringly obvious from minute one of the two lovers meeting. Gary Copper is an amazing actor, who could’ve played Audreys Dad very well, but when he’s her love interest it feels disgusting. The film is also slow in areas but that could’ve been forgiven if her love interest was of a similar age. The story idea is fantastic, and this had the potential to be one of Wilders greats, but the off putting age difference of the romance makes many scenes hard to truly enjoy.
