Really enjoyed this. The film makes you feel bad for Colin Farrell for almost the entire runtime, and within the space of five minutes I wanted to see him dead. Crazy turnaround but fascinating to watch. All the acting is truly fantastic, all the kids are great and of course Kidman and Dunst give classic performances. Those women were seriously in heat but who can blame them.

Sofia Coppola's ethereal film The Beguiled is a film that never will be forgotten. Bathed in subtle sexuality, The Beguiled revisits the same tale as the 1971 film, while managing to capture an essence that was missing from the original; the eyes of a woman. With this incantation, Coppola creates a film that is brilliant and beautiful. Yet again, this is a film that not much can be said about without taking away from the very essence of Coppola's vision. Terrence Malick might have created an extremely personal film this year with Song to Song that spoke personally to me, but Sofia Coppola created the best film of the year with a group of stunning women and a plot that desperately needed to be revisited by a woman.
