Diary Entry forBring Them Down
Immediately after the film I thought it wasn’t very good, which is usually a bad sign, but after a couple of days thinking about it I’ve changed my mind. Sure, it’s no masterpiece, but it’s not necessarily bad either. Some pretty glaring inconsistencies, such as the red truck at first belonging to Michael then just suddenly switching to being Gary’s vehicle, which is never explained. Also, we are meant to feel sorry for Jack as he is portrayed as this young impressionable kid when in reality he’s played by Barry Keoghan who is a 32 year old man. Apart from that though it’s a solid directorial debut.

cannot believe this movie made me feel unbothered by the human on human violence but the violence on the sheep absolutely disgusted me
Bring Them Down
Can someone give Barry roles that aren’t of stupid teenage guys? The man already has a son, for God’s sake. I have a certain taste for movies of this style, where violence and revenge stand out as a stupid necessity to compensate for tragedies. The cyclical relationship between both characters, both Barry’s and Christopher’s, where both are trapped in a critical environment from which they cannot escape, is truly devastating, and precisely reaching the point of breaking this cycle is the most interesting part. The dense atmosphere in every scene really keeps you engaged, making the characters’ suffering feel closer. Although at some moments you might think the plot is repetitive, the dynamic between the two protagonists makes the ending feel very necessary. Personal recommendation: If you like slow pacing with more violence and revenge, you’ll enjoy it or at least it will keep you with the same tension as “As Bestas” by Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
Bring Them Down
Im convinced Barry is going to keep playing deranged-sociopathic-adolesent till he's 80 years old Frown town population everyone fr (including me) Those poor sheep bro 😟 the gore in that scene was as crazy as the men in this movie So anxiety inducing, brutal, and dark, the violence comes in impulsive outbursts of rage and desperate attempts to make right what has been wronged, leaving everyone bloody and unsatisfied, the tone is remarkably sad and cruel.
