Diary Entry forLeave Her to Heaven
Brilliant performances and a great plot, LHTH is a great noir film which combines many genres into one. The film was fun and interesting but dragged at certain points, which could’ve easily been cut.

Leave Her to Heaven
Leave Her to Heaven marks the first film I’ve seen fromJohn M. Stahl,as well as my introduction to beautifulGene Tierney and Cornel Wilde’sacting talents - I thought they were great here, though I mainly think Tierney specifically has a lot to work with, what with her being the insanely possessive and poisonous killer that she is. Overall I found the film decently engaging, but I did have issues with how it was paced. The film is one that takes place over multiple years, but they never make it explicitly clear just how much time passes scene by scene. The strongest aspect of it is the beautiful cinematography (which it won an Oscar for) by Leon Shamroy, who was nominated a staggering 18 times in his career, winning 4. Leave Her to Heaven is a good film, if not a tad bit melodramatic, but that seems more of a stylistic choice than anything. I can fix her.
