Feels like it wants to be an epic, but doesn’t really do or achieve anything actually epic. The love story is cute and that’s about it. Surly there are more entertaining stories from the period which are waiting to be told. Meryl Streep is great and probably the best part of the film, but her accent gets very annoying after 2 hours and 40 minutes. I didn’t think this is as boring as some people say, but it’s not really entertaining either. Completely and utterly mid.
