Beautiful animation and fantastic story telling lead to this. A heartwarming film with a lot of heart and great cinematography. Pinocchios design is a bit creepy but you get use to it as the film progresses, and Mussolini’s portrayal is very well deserved.

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio

He did it, after all this time, he did it <3 Had to do it the service of seeing it on the big screen. And ohhhh they got me, they done got me good! A truly wrecked Geppetto piecing together that wooden boy in a pain-n-anguish stupor. Pinocchio himself as a disruptive agent of chaos and light, what a treat. Biblically accurate 'blue fairy', ahaa! And dropping the whole of it with a fuck-facism hammerfall. Beautiful craftsmanship, beautiful film, a whole work of heart dancing up there in the cinema dark.
