Black Adam is very much a mixed bag. By almost any metric it’s a stereotypical superhero film, it doesn’t try anything new or push any boundaries. The story is one which has been told by DC and Marvel many times before and will be told many times again. The acting is pretty awful by almost everyone, the side characters, bar Dr Fate, are terrible and the villains are just colonisers. Barely original or interesting. Every scene with skateboard boy is unbelievable levels of cringe and his acting is very bad, yes I know he’s young but he shouldn’t be in a film with a budget of £200million+. I actually really liked the Rock as Black Adam. Yes, there are far to many slow motion shots in this but the lighting is cool. The character of Black Adam is interesting and I wish they wouldn’t of killed Dr Fate. Post credit scene was interesting and that should be a good film, but overall this was ruined by the bad side characters acting and poorly written script.
