My favourite Bond of all time, everything about this is perfect. The theme song is the best out of any Bond film, the story’s great and all the actors were amazing. Judi Dench is the best M of all time, and Craig was unbelievable as always. A timeless classic.

Skyfall

A week late in logging these. The ghosts of blockbusters past make haste with the haze, leave a few momentary marks and then evaporate in a puff of dollar signs and ticket stubs. The marks here are a thankful bit more meditative in their erosion of Craig's Bond which carries us well on our way to the most grounded, human iteration of the character so far. Even the pace of the editing is quartered, such a welcome change. Slow camera, still camera. I like it a lot. Bardem's long walk n' sit n' chat. The wasteland at night, lit by fire. An injured Bond silhouette, trying to push through the pain. A slow zoom on a hand-to-hand fight with urban billboards reflecting off glass partitions. The movie makes its touchpoints and callbacks with the series long history (that's just what you have to do in these things) but it's all in the service of this new tangent, of digging through the well to see what still might be worth saving, if anything at all. The plot revolves around personal histories, personal failures. This kind of intimacy is a nice change.

Skyfall

Skyfall

Okay, so this gets one star for Adele‘s song at the beginning of the movie and they get another star for the cinematography but to be honest for precisely  2 hours 19 minutes and 39 seconds I was bored out of my mind. It got to the point where I had to watch this on 2x speed. It just felt very dull very lackluster despite being - or trying to be - a sexy spy movie. It honestly felt that Daniel Craig was bored himself? Maybe because this is my first JB movie I don’t know if this is the persona that James Bond is meant to be going after but all I can say is no wonder he doesn’t want to do Bond movies anymore, because neither do I

Skyfall

Dear lord, this was magnificent. Skyfall is everything you could hope for. The perfect balance between the action and the drama, shot beautifully and is honestly beautiful. It's an amazing addition, beating Quantum of Solace by a long shot. Spectre has a lot to compete with.
