A fun time with lots of cheese and action, They Live is 80s film captured perfectly. Still unsure to why Frank was so scared to wear sunglasses and would prefer to fight for several minutes instead but he may have just been scared of the truth. Could tell Holly was evil, she had that look in her eye. That finishes Celluloid Screams Classic Horror Movie Marathon 2022, which was very enjoyable with my beautiful girl.

"The golden rule: he who has the gold, makes the rules." “I’m here to chew bubblegum, and kick ass. And I’m all out of bubblegum.” Might just be the greatest line in any action movie ever. This film makes a striking social commentary on capitalism, consumerism, mass media, classism, and the hidden powers that control our world using one of the most unique premises I've seen in a long time. Switching from color to black and white when the glasses are on or off is genius. The black and white scenes really give this a "Twilight Zone" vibe, which adds to the horror. This movie has it all; action, sci-fi, horror, a killer score, visual effects, one-liners, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and the man/myth/legend himself Keith David. Funny how even though this is satirical, the subliminal messages here are just as relevant today. If someone tells you to put on the glasses, just fucking do it instead of fighting them for 15 minutes in an alley.
