Sundance 2021 What a film. Judas and the Black Messiah is a powerful film, with some absolutely incredible performances. I’ll have more to say on it once I watch it again in a few weeks, but wow. What a strong film.

very very good. a great depiction of radicalism, and the things that were actually happening in the 60s and 70s. there’s not a bad performance in this, and each performance just gets better as the movie continues. Definitely a movie that gave me a new perspective on things and actually makes me want to do more research. Lakeith Stanfield is also really good at being a nigga.

Nada como una historia importante contada por las personas indicadas. La mejor dirección que he visto en un buen tiempo; Shaka King eleva lo que era una lucha sociopolítica a una psicológica. Contrasta la determinación de Hampton con la cobardía de O’Neal una y otra vez de manera muy sutil. Y aunque hubo mucho poder en los discursos, ninguno habló más que las acciones. Words are beautiful, but action is supreme. Hampton me parece una figura increíble porque a pesar de ser tan joven, nunca perdió el sentido del movimiento que estaba tratando de iniciar.
