We Bury the Dead
Probably the most boring and weird post-apocalypse zombie movie, the zombie didn't even attack or running to them, just a girl looking for her man, but when she found him, i think that he's deserved that. The plot also didn't helping the boredom of this movie. Would be better if we have some barbaric zombie chasing and attack. Anyway cool zombie creatures tho.
We Bury the Dead
We Bury the Dead is a film that felt a bit too safe. There are tense moments, but overall, the stakes feel surprisingly low for a zombie film. Ridley does a decent job in her performance, but it isn’t anything that I’d say was terribly noteworthy. The way that the zombies acted made for an interesting watch, but overall, this was a bit of a dud.
We Bury the Dead
That was different. Going based off what I saw from the previews of this I was expecting an chaotic zombie movie featuring Daisy Ridley and Brenton Thwaites. But this was more of an emotional film after all. I really liked that different take for the zombie genre though. Without me realizing it I've watched like 5 different zombie films from different povs/storytellings. The story of this I did find very interesting with how the dead works and how the catastrophe happened. It was interesting to see it only take over 1 country instead of the world. The emotional additions were good and actually fit pretty well with a zombie film. Ngl I have enjoyed watching Daisy Ridley's acting in films even since she was Rey, and she was great in this. Brenton Thwaites was good as always too lol. The zombies looked great. I don't know if I can even call them zombies though. However the genre for this is horror, yet I feel like there was barely any in this. The only part that had some was that weird soldier segment I didn't really like. I wish there was more zombie action or kills. Mixed with the emotional parts this already has that would've put this over the top. But this felt more like an emotional apocalyptic world. Which I do like the uniqueness this took in that aspect. I did however also like how this story tried taking a more meaningful and emotional approach than a chaotic zombie one in some ways. I also am just wondering what that ending meant lol. I still enjoyed this mostly though, it was a pretty solid horror/emotional film for me. Also I'm including this in my 2026 releases even though it premiered before then.
We Bury the Dead
I almost buried myself to sleep watching this film. Don’t get me wrong—I’m a sucker for grief-driven horror, stories about loss and trauma that stick with you. But We Bury the Dead never hits that mark. The only thing keeping it afloat is Daisy Ridley’s dedication. She throws herself into the role and tries to carry the emotional weight, but the film around her feels flat. What starts as a tense, grief-laced thriller slowly becomes monotonous.
